The Hobbit is a three-part fantasy film directed by Sir Peter Jackson. It is an adaptation of the a novel (The Hobbit) of the same name by J. R. R. Tolkien and prequel to The Lord of the Rings film trilogy. Peter Jackson directed The Hobbit.

The Hobbit comes in three parts to - the first is titled The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, the second The Desolation of Smaug and the third The Battle of the Five Armies.
